Uva Province Election - Sri Lanka

Politicians desire power. To gain power they need votes. For votes they need people. To win votes spending on lavish propaganda is not enough. People want action and people are also literate enough to know the dynamics of power politics which is why regime change tactics have all failed in Sri Lanka. The next plot is to take away the power of the majority voters, the stakeholders of the Sri Lankan identity has. The tactics used is to install everyone but the majority into powerful positions and get them to make the necessary legal changes that would make the Sinhala Buddhists the majority only on paper and remove the power they yield even at elections. The question is, how aware and how in control of the situation are the leaders that wish to protect the identity, heritage and history of Sri Lanka for invariably it affects their ability to come into power in the future as well?

S P Thamilselvan’s wife, Shashirekha

“Tamil Diaspora’s bid to mislead us will not succeed’ said S P Thamilselvan’s wife, Shashirekha in 2011. The statement is self-revealing and conclusively states that the Tamil Diaspora has been misleading the Tamil people. It also means the Tamil Diaspora has been misleading the Tamil people. The interview itself is noteworthy to the UN investigators and all others who believe that compiling reports from overseas can shut out voices of those who had been very much part of the LTTE. The quick response is likely to be that Mrs. Thamilselvan has little choice now that she is outside of LTTE control but how is her fate any different from those in the opposite camp paid to give a totally opposite version and use that to witch hunt against Sri Lanka?

US war crimes in Iraq

The UN Human Rights Council sessions are in progress. The US, the world’s champion of human rights, rule of law and the living example of righteousness has through its delegation noted with concern the failure by the international community to act in Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur, Syria and Sri Lanka. Leaving aside the failure of the countries named why doesn’t some nation attending these Human Rights sessions stand up and tell the US that 1.5million Iraqi lives would not have perished if US did not illegally invade, occupy and take over assets belonging to Iraq which has been going on without abatement for the last 10 years!

Organic Vs GMO foods

There is a saying that what is not good for the goose cannot be good for the gander. In other words, why are all those promoting genetically modified foods for the rest of the world not eating GMOs but eating organic?
